As the Managing Director of Microhaem Scientifics, I am deeply committed to our vision of revolutionizing medical products and diagnostic manufacturing in Africa. Our mission is rooted in the belief that equitable access to high-quality medical products and diagnostics is a fundamental right for all individuals, regardless of their geographic location or socio-economic status. With this guiding principle, we are dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge technology, innovative research, and strategic partnerships to address the pressing healthcare needs of our continent.
At Microhaem Scientifics, we recognize the challenges faced by healthcare systems in Africa, including limited access to sustainable supply of vaccines and diagnostics and other health products. This reality underscores the urgency of our work to develop and manufacture these critically needed products locally; thus ensuring equitable access to quality, affordable, and reliable products that meet the specific needs of our communities.
Everyday our team strives to make patients’ lives better by identifying the most critical needs and applying the latest technology in every step of our processes.
Our manufacturing initiative represents a significant stride in advancing Africa’s new public health agenda (call to action) of reducing health products importation from 99% to 40% by 2040 and in particular Uganda’s NDP III commitment to enhance industrialization and import substitution. For the continent to achieve this, key important factors like technology transfer, human-resource skillset enhancement and subsidies for local manufacturing entities will play a pivotal role.
